You can get all laboratory tests performed quickly and affordably. You are also most welcome to our laboratory with a referral from the public healthcare sector, and some tests can be arranged without a doctor’s referral.

Lump clinic

Our Lump Clinic is a low-threshold diagnostic service where experienced general practitioners and specialists examine moles and lumps that are concerning you. If necessary, they can also be removed during or after the consultation visit. For the removal of most moles or large lumps/skin changes, a separate procedure appointment is always recommended.

The use of blood-thinning medications is advised to be avoided before the procedure (you can ask for more information about this when booking your appointment).

After the removal of a mole or lump, the skin is closed with either dissolvable and/or superficial stitches. Superficial stitches will typically be removed 5-10 days after the procedure, while sauna, swimming, and sweating sports are not recommended.

We recommend booking an appointment either for an evaluation visit or an extended mole check.

Evaluation Visit: 10 min doctor’s evaluation (free of charge after Kela reimbursement), consultation fee 27€ + Kanta fee 3€ (total 30€)

During the Lump Clinic’s evaluation visit, our experienced and knowledgeable general practitioners and specialists will assess the treatment of individual lumps and moles.

This expert service is offered at the consultation fee price. We kindly request to book an appointment for the evaluation visit by phone.

A mole or lump may be removed during the evaluation visit if possible.

Extended Mole Check: 20 min doctor’s consultation 44€ (with Kela reimbursement afterwards) + consultation fee 27€ + facility fee 25€ + Kanta fee 3€ (total 99€)

If you have several moles or wish for a comprehensive skin and mole check, we recommend the Lump Clinic’s extended mole check. The extended mole check also utilizes the latest dermatoscope.

If any suspicious or unusual skin changes are found during the evaluation visit or mole check, we may take a biopsy or remove the changes for pathological diagnosis. If necessary, skin changes on the face will be removed by our plastic surgeon, for whom you can also book an appointment directly.

The Lump Clinic operates on weekdays during the medical center’s opening hours. An appointment for the Lump Clinic and extended mole check must be booked by phone.

Anemia clinic

Anemia Clinic & Iron Infusion

Our specialist, Dr. Pia Suonpää, is an experienced clinician in investigation and treatment of anemia and iron deficiency. Iron deficiency, in particular, is a much-discussed topic today. Often, we talk about anemia and iron deficiency together, but especially in young people the symptoms of iron deficiency can appear before a decrease in hemoglobin levels. The symptoms of iron deficiency can be very diverse, ranging from mild occasional fatigue to work incapacity. Simply measuring ferritin may not always reveal iron deficiency, which is why symptoms, other diseases, and previous tests should be evaluated before conducting blood tests.

If iron deficiency is confirmed, the condition is generally treated with oral iron supplements, provided that the symptoms are not severe, and the absorption and tolerance of the iron supplement are good. Sometimes, to replenish iron stores, iron is given via intravenous infusion, which allows for a quicker response in terms of well-being and hemoglobin levels. There are also situations when iron should not be given, even if ferritin is low. Therefore, a doctor’s evaluation and prescription are always required form the treatment.

Iron infusions are weekly administered at our clinic in Lauttasaari. The infusion, preparation, and follow-up takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. Possible side effects of the iron infusion include nausea, and more rarely, allergic reactions. These side effects will be discussed in more detail during the doctor’s consultation.

You are most welcome to book an appointment with Dr. Pia Suonpää by calling our appointment booking (tel. 0200 20033) or through the online booking system. We kindly ask you to book at least a 30-minute consultation time.

You can get vaccinations on Mondays and Thursdays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM without booking an appointment. If preferable, you are most welcome to book an appointment for a vaccination (tel. 0200 20033).

Our skilled nurses and doctors will assist you with vaccination matters. We offer all current vaccinations, such as whooping cough, tick (TBE), pneumococcal, shingles, and tetanus vaccines, flu, COVID-19 etc. (see vaccination price list).

If you’re traveling abroad, we recommend booking an appointment with our nurse at the travel consultation clinic, where the necessary vaccinations for your destination and potential medications for infection prevention will be thoroughly discussed. The nurse will consult our doctor regarding vaccinations and medications, if needed.

We recommend seeing a doctor for vaccination if you have had a severe allergic reaction, have a condition or medication that affects your immune response, or have any other specific concerns related to vaccinations.

Remember to bring your previous vaccination certificates when you come to the vaccination appointment.
